Weekend Fishing Vacations Can Be Good for Your Marriage

Weekends have always been special, because they mark the end of the work week. For some, that is. Even those that work the weekend will refer to their days off during the week as their weekend. Whether your weekend falls on a Saturday and Sunday or a Tuesday and Wednesday, if it is something you can look forward to every week, you’ll be even more productive during your workweek.

Weekend fishing vacations can help your marriage in two different ways. First, everyone needs some time away from their partner every now and then. If you spend a lot of time together, one of you taking a weekend fishing vacation may be just the thing to give your marriage the shot in the arm it needs.

Sometimes we just need to get away, and we are better able to deal with our responsibilities after we have recharged our batteries, so to speak.

What if your spouse wants you to go with him on a weekend fishing vacation and you don’t want to? First of all, be honest. Tell him that as much as you will miss him you need a little down time yourself. Plan something together for the following weekend that the two of you can look forward to.

Another way a weekend fishing vacation can be good for your marriage is when the two of you do take off together. There’s going to be times when you feel like you just want to get away from everything and there will also be times when you both have had a rough week and all you want to do is get away from everything and everybody – except each other.
